Do I need to allow microphone access?
No. Every step works with tap controls too. Microphone access is only for optional hands-free step navigation.
Is my audio uploaded or recorded?
No. Shout detection runs on your device, and YellChef does not record or upload microphone audio.
Why did a timer alert not appear?
Check notification permission, Focus or Do Not Disturb mode, silent mode, and battery restrictions. Timer alerts depend on your device settings, so keep an eye on food that needs close attention.
Can I leave the app while a timer is running?
Yes. YellChef keeps track of each recipe’s timer progress, can continue timers in the background, and a timer notification can bring you back to the relevant recipe step.
Does YellChef work offline?
Yes for core cooking features. Recipes, timers, favorites, saved progress, and language settings are stored on your device.
Which languages does YellChef support?
English, Russian, and Serbian.
How do I report a recipe or translation issue?
Email yellchef@jamshoot.net with the recipe name, app language, step number if relevant, and a short explanation of what should be fixed.
